Pedestrianisation of Narrow Way_with Studio Weave

The London Borough of Hackney invited us to take part in a two year regeneration scheme in central Hackney in partnership with Studio Weave and EcoActive.

Hackney’s Narrow Way was transformed from a busy bus route into a welcoming pedestrian-friendly public space. The new pedestrian street was dotted with groups of giant wooden planters and seating areas creating meeting spaces and a perfect backdrop for community festivals.

After the test period, based on consultation with local businesses, residents and TfL, Hackney Council concluded that the temporary pedestrianisation had been a success, and the scheme was made permanent.
